HOW TO USE ADVION COCKROACH GEL BAIT
Advion roach killer is not a repellent. It works by attracting roaches to the bait. Once a roach returns to its colony, it can infect up to 50+ other roaches, ensuring all of them are eliminated. Please follow this guide for the best results.
- Thoroughly clean the area(s) where you expect to apply the Advion roach bait. This may include around cracks and crevices, inside drawers, and countertops.
- Next, eliminate all other food or water sources that may attract roach attention. Clean out pet bowls, dry kitchen sinks, and put away sponges.
- Attach the tip and plunger to the bait syringe.
- Apply the Advion bait directly to various cracks and crevices.
- Each application should be a dot no larger than 0.5 oz. or ¼” in diameter.
- Apply 3-5 dots of gel every 10 linear feet for heavy infestations and 1-3 dots of gel every 10 linear feet for light and moderate infestations.
- Check the application areas weekly and reapply as the gel is consumed.
Advion Roach Killer Don’ts
- Don’t apply the gel in long lines or large dots. Roaches have small mouths and will avoid too-large food sources.
- Don’t apply the gel on porous surfaces or near air currents, as these can dry out the gel and prevent roaches from eating it.
- Don’t apply the gel to any surfaces that are exposed to high heat, like ovens and saunas.
- Don’t apply the gel to areas that have already been treated with another insecticide.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take for Advion Roach Bait to work?
You may begin to notice results within a few hours, but Advion is designed to work gradually. Most users see a significant drop in roach activity within 3 to 7 days. The gel allows cockroaches to consume the bait and carry it back to their nesting areas, which helps eliminate the larger colony over time.
Why am I seeing more roaches after using Advion?
It’s common to see more roaches shortly after applying Advion roach killer. This usually means the bait is working. As cockroaches leave their hiding spots to eat the bait, they become more visible. Once the bait is ingested and shared among the group, the population should begin to decline within several days.
How effective is Advion Cockroach Gel?
Advion is a professional-grade bait that’s known for targeting a wide range of roach species. It’s highly effective when applied in areas where roaches are active, such as cracks, crevices, and behind appliances. Because it works through secondary transfer, even roaches that don’t eat the bait directly can still be affected. With proper placement and reapplication as needed, Advion roach bait can effectively control even the toughest infestations.
How long does the bait remain active, and when should I reapply?
Advion cockroach gel will remain effective for up to three months or until it dries out. Check applications weekly and reapply if the bait has been consumed.
Can I use Advion Roach Bait outdoors or in exterior areas?
We do not recommend using the bait in any exterior areas. This insecticide is designed to attract roaches to the area. It’s best used around indoor areas that already have roach activity. For exterior areas, consider a different type of roach insecticide.
Is Advion Cockroach Gel safe around children, pets, and in food areas?
Advion should not be applied in any area that is accessible to children and pets. You should avoid application in food storage or prep areas unless the food is in sealed containers and doesn’t come in contact with the gel.
